Hi, My husband and I moved here from Jackson Cnty, Alabama. We were singing with the Liberty PB Coy Ivy Memorial at Henagar, Al. We are novices but love the singing.
See you tomorrow,
Janet and Robert Shadoin

Enjoyed your shared joy and dedication. As a child, my grandfather, Chesley Bray, took me and my brothers to many Scared Harp gatherings. I spent many summers attending the week or two week schools, learning the basics of the tradition. My grandfather wrote and published several hundred 'Gospel" songs, all in shape note tradition. Finding this site brought back good memories. Listening to recordings fills me with the Spirit of God. The dominate vibration of the heels keeping time while the room fills with His praise. Each voice, individual, unique just as He made us.

Judy, Tina, and I had a wonderful time singing with you last Saturday. Thank you for welcoming us so warmly. It's a long drive, but who knows - maybe someday we'll get the chance to come again. I would like to share our choral group's website with you - www.davidjohnsonchorus.com. If any of you have connections to a venue that might consider hosting a choral concert, please let them know about us. And if you're ever in West Tennessee, we'd love to see you at one of our shows. Kudos to all of you for keeping the tradition of sacred harp alive. I hope to have the chance to learn many more songs. I am definitely putting the songbook on my Christmas wish list. :)
All the best,
Christie Atkins

Hi! I live over an hour away, but I am hoping to come to some meetings when I can. I love Sacred Harp music and want to learn more! I would like to know when the upcoming sings are, as they are scheduled.

Hello! I heard a story on NPR about this tradition. I have a degree in music but had never heard of Sacred Harp before the radio story. I am interested in coming to see your group sing. When is the next time I could come hear you in the Nashville area? I don't believe I'd be brave enough to attempt the actual singing, not being the best sight reader. Do you welcome visitors who are not actively participating?
